MEET GRETCHEN

With the analytical mind of my engineer father, and the creativity of my artist mother, design is in my genes.  I grew up in Aiken, South Carolina and graduated with a graphic design degree from USC Columbia. After marrying my college sweetheart, Scott,  we had two children (Eliza & Ben) and never left the Columbia area.

 

In 2009, we embarked on a major renovation of our home in the Historic Wales Garden neighborhood in Columbia  Through the process of taking an unloved, 1940's Georgian Colonial home with good bones in a fantastic neighborhood back to its former glory, I realized my calling.

I started a blog in 2010 where I shared all of my inspiration, design ideas, and musings on design. In 2012, I was asked to show my home on The Nate Berkus Show. Friends and neighbors started asking me for advice and help with their homes.  One thing led to another and my design business was born. Some of my designs have been featured in Columbia Metropolitan Home and on home tours in the area.

In 2014 I stepped away to concentrate on raising my two wonderful children; however, the itch to design became more than I could bear, and 6 years later I was back at it.  Since 2020, I have collaborated on many interior design projects in the Columbia and Aiken, SC areas including large scale renovations, new builds,  kitchen design and bathroom design.

 

My goal is to create delightful, collected, approachable spaces. I pride myself in understanding your vision and translating your ideas and personality into a space. The finished product is unique to your style and needs.
